    Doctor's Advice - Question / Answers

Question: I am 40 years old and ever since the birth of my child I started getting heavy periods 10 years back. I have PCOD and adenomyosis. My doctor put me on Birth control pills for 1-2 years. After I stopped taking BCP, my periods have been irregular. First cycle was on time the second was two weeks late and the third was on time ( 26 days) and now fourth has not started. Ever since I stopped taking birth control pills, I had started taking Stri Rasayan vati along with Shilajeet rasayan vati about 4 months back. The medicine helped me to get painless periods, but the flow is still heavy and periods irregular. Recently, I have also noticed a swelling in my underarm on left side. It is causing some pain. So, please tell me what medicines I can take. Does Stri rasayan vati or shilajit rasayan cause swelling in armpit and delay periods.

Answered by YogaGuru : Dear patient, There is nothing to worry for the swelling in armpit as it looks like that you have got some blood infection which has created this axillary lymph node swelling for this please take Divya Kamdudha ras 250 mg twice daily with honey and Divya Kanchnaar Guggulu 2 tabs twice daily before meals. Also start Divya Patrangasava 20 ml with 20 ml water after meals thrice daily. Avoid spicy food and also maintain a good hygiene of genitals for best results. You can continue Shilajeet and stri rasayan vati in future also. regards Dr. Saurabh

Still not get pregnat. please suggest I can continue these medicines with PCOS. I am taking metformin for diabetis 2. Please answer me asap. last I didn't get my answer.

Answered by Dr.Ramani : PCOD is a common problem that delays pregnancy in some of them. The insulin resistance is also considered as a cause with weight gain. So making some lifestyle changes with proper diet, medicines and exercise will help to improve the chances. As it is due to the harmonal imbalance, please let me know other harmone tests and reports to guide you further. You can also take Sumara kwath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily along with the powder of Shivlingi seeds and Putrajeevak seeds, Divya Fal ghratam for 3months and then review. Include sesame seeds, pine apple, papaya, garlic, pepper, black gram, milk, horsegram and garlic. Reduce excess of meat, broccoli and soya. Yogasanas like Gomukhasana, Janushirasana, Matsyasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Uthithapadasana, Utkadasana and Paschimottasana which are beneficial.
Question: I am 23years old girl, suffering from irregular menses since three years. I did my all test, pelvic USG is normal and all hormones are also normal except Testosteron which is high but not very high. Doctor told that it can be a pcos so he has prescribed me a OC pills and Aldactone-50 I am also suffering from hair fall since three years and have put weight also. What should I do? I am very confused, can you suggest something?

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, When your USG shows normal, then there are least chances of presence of PCOS, so no need to worry about it. In few women, there may irregular periods though their parameters are normal. The only thing is if you are under immense stress or anxiety, it is better to undergo proper counseling and observe the pattern of your periods. Observe for frequency and duration of the bleeding, and if you have anemia, there may be chances of hair fall. So, by considering all factors you have to consume medications. Though you do not have PCOS, it is better to take the Package Medicine for PCOD Divya Strirasayan vati, Divya Rajahpravartani vati, and Divya Kanchanar guggulu which are helpful to regularize your periods and controls your hair fall. If you have excessive hair fall, then you may consume Divya Kesh Taila Hair Oil which is meant for external application and consume Trichup Capsule internally. With regards, Dr. Vijay.
Question: Dear Sir, My wife has just got her Anti-Mullerian Hormone test done couple days ago. The test result of her's is 3.47 ng/ml. It has been more than 6 years since we have been trying for the baby. In 2010 we also even tried couple of times IOU also. But she never conceived. She also had hormonal imbalance problem. The result of AMH of her's is it one higher side, please suggest about it. I have studied after result that higher AMH means PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) problem is it true. Symptoms which I have read about some match with her, as hair at belly and back, hair at face and some are coming at chest also. She also has gained little bit after marriage and she has gained fat at her belly part of the body. What are chances for her conceiving at this stage. At this stage she doesn't have type-2 diabetes. But she does love having sugar intake things a lot. Her family has the history of type -2 diabetes. Please suggest what should we do. Or the last option we have now is IVF. She is now 30 years plus. Warm regards, Jitin

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Normally when AMH level is more than 3ng/ml it is considered as high. The chances of conception depends on the other blood results also. It shows good ovarian reserve but as you have mentioned some symptoms of PCOD, there may be a problem with ovulation. If the periods are not regular, it indicates a probelm with ovulation. It can be confirmed by consulting a gynecologist with necessary investigations. Ayurvedic medicines like Sukumara kasayam - 10ml with 40ml of warm water before food twice daily, Divya Fal ghratamcan be taken to improve the quality of the eggs. Eat healthy food with more intervals. Include complex carbohydrates, black gram, olive oil, ghee, milk and fiber in diet. Yogasanas like Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Gomukhasana, Matsyasana, Dhanurasana, Janushirasana, Uthithapadasana, Utkadasna, Paschimottasana helps to improve the blood flow to the ovary. Pranayamam and Meditation will help to reduce stress. Gentle full body oil massages also improve the blood flow to the ovaries. You can wait for 3-6months and then consult with your gynecologist with blood tests and treatment options.

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello, As you mentioned clearly that your periods are irregular, followed by which you have gone through ultrasonography which showed multiple cysts in ovaries and this condition is called as polycystic ovarian disease. In your case, it will be better if you can mention your vitals such as weight and height, body mass index etc. As your reports showing that you might be suffering from fatty liver too. Considering all these factors, it is clear that you will be suffering from irregular periods. In Ayurveda, we do follow multiple ways to correct such disorders. One is following strict diet, second is following regular activities combined with modified lifestyle, and third way is following medications regularly. If you stick to all these, there is possibility to correct your health. Once you regularize with periods, you can follow healthy lifestyle and food habits to maintain your health. Following standard medications are helpful in your case such as PCOD Package Medicine that contains multiple medicines which will help you in correcting. In this you can consume Rajah Pravarthini Vati till you get periods and once you get periods, you can stop and you can restart before two weeks of your expectation of next cycle.

Question: hello im 26,female i want to know thr are any medicine to become pregnant as early as possible

Answered by Dr.Vijay : Hello Madam, Considering many factors, it all depends how soon you become pregnant. There are some important factors you must note. First of all there should not any physical or physiological abnormalities, or anatomical abnormalities related to reproductive system in both males and females. In your husband semen analysis should be good and sperms should be viable and good motility and he is fit enough to do intercourse without erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation problems. When coming to you, your reproductive system should be viable enough and without any such illnesses like PCOD, or any uterine related complaints with proper ovulation. Over and above this is the time which decides. Usually you have to start intercourse during your ovulation phase that is after 7 days of your menstruation (fresh cycle). In this way there are many things to be done before getting pregnant. However, you can consume following medicines which are helpful such as Divya Falghrit, Shatari Granules which are helpful for your condition. If you have any particular doubts, you can contact us back. With regards, Dr. Vijay.

Undergone IUI three times but no success. recently my friend suggested putrajevakar and shivlingabeej. I started bleeding slightly immediately after 2 days of its usage, though my regural period is only after 15 days. I never experienced intermittent bleeding till date. and my periods are regular. Kindly suggest me its correct usage

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Intermittent bleeding is seen in conditions like PCOD, pelvic inflammatory conditions, infections or harmonal imbalance. Repeated abortion is commonly seen due to pelvic infection, structural or chromosomal problems which can be identified with karyotyping tests. Please let me know about any investigations you have taken with the advise of your gynecologist. Divya Shivlingi seeds-Bryonopsis laciniosais) and Divya Putrajevak seed - Putranjiva roxburghii are commonly used for gynecological problems especially to improve the chances conceive. The heating effect can sometimes cause bleeding. It is supposed to cleanse the artava vaha srotas. Shivlingi seeds are pungent in taste and hot in potency while Putra jevak seeds are sweet, pungent, cooling potency and sweet post digestive effect. So it must have a balance when taken together. You can continue for 3months, but if you feel excessive bleeding with intermittent bleeding please stop and consult your gynecologist and an Ayurvedic doctor.
