Answered by Dr.Ramani : Brain is a tricky organ that needs constant attention and the more you use, the more you will get. At times it is normal to forget things when there is a pressure while you study. If there is no distraction or anything that bothers you, you can try with medicines and some lifestyle changes. Yes, both Brahmi and Aswagandha are effective to improve the memory. You can take Brahmi Ghrit - 1tsp before food twice daily and Ashwagandha Choorna - 1tsp with milk at bed time for 3months. Along with the medicines try to learn and retrieve the information the next day, by doing so it will improve the function of the brain. A good physical exercise also helps to improve the concentration level with a good energy level. Eat brain healthy foods like nuts, fruits like berries, cinnamon, garlic, spinach, pomegranate, olives, avocados, green tea, dark chocolate. Include complex carbohydrates and fiber in your diet. Yogasanas like Sarvangasana, Halasana, Sirsasana, Shalabasana helps to improve the circulatin to the brain. Practise Meditation and Pranayamam which will improve the power to concentrate and a strength to over come fear. It will also help to increase the self confidence.
