Answered by Dr.Ramani : Creutzfeldt Jakob disease is a rapidly progressive disease affecting the brain cells. Symptoms like drowsiness, memory problem, anxiety and impaired thinking can be seen. Hence treatment is advised to manage the symptoms. Please consult with your nearest physician if the symptoms become severe. Ayurvedic medicines like Smrutihills for memory support, Brahmi Ghrit and Aswagandha churnam can be taken twice daily for a month and then reviewed. Include berries, grapes, brahmi, pomegranate, turmeric, olives, spinach, avocados and basil. Reduce excess refined flour, sugar, carbonated beverages, caffeine, canned foods, salt and oil. Question: Hi, I have 9 year old daughter. She is 5 weeks premature. Her right kidney is absent, she had meningitis when she was 14 days old, she was having hole in the heart, which has been closed by surgery. Her development was on time except speech. Include dark chocolate, olives, whole grains, garlic, spinach, avocados, complex carbohydrates and green tea. Reduce excess sugar, canned foods, salt and oily foods. Sufficient sleep is essential for a good memory. Yogasanas like Triokonasana, Supported Sarvangasana, Sirsasana, Shalabhasana, Halasana are beneficial. Meditation, Yoganidra and Pranayamam will help to increase the concentration and memory which will help to improve the studies. So Ayurvedic medicines can be given to regularise her bowel movements and also medicines to improve the vision and concentration skills. Dabur Triphala tablets can be given as 2tablets at bedtime after food. Divya MahaTriphala Ghrit can be given as a teaspoon before food twice daily. Smrutihills for memory support - one capsule can be given after food twice daily. These medicines can be used for a month and reviewed. Please let me know the power in the eyes or the symptoms bothering and her age to guide you further.
