Question: Hi, I am a 35-year-old working woman based out of Gurgaon. I had a laparoscopy done for Endometriosis in October 2013 and my ovarian cysts were removed then. During the procedure, the doctors informed me that my fallopian tubes were blocked. I've had a failed IUI and IVF cycle since then. While I have a 25-day cycle with some PMS and mild pain, I don't have much issues during my 5-6 day cycle. However, once my periods are over, around the 10th day onward, I've this weird back pain (mostly muscular) that keeps coming and going. This last some 4-5 days (till my 15th-16th day of the cycle). My USGs show no occurrence of any cysts. My IVF doctor (2016) had told me that she felt some slight blockage while implanting the embryo, and claimed that this might be Adenomyosis owing to which I also feel the pain. Could this be the case? I have recently started swimming and doing yoga. Due to which I felt minimal back pain. I am seeking cure for my Endometriosis, Infertility and this current back pain. How can yoga help? Please advise.. Thanks, Shilpi

Answered by Dr.Ramani : Adenomyosis is the growth of the endometrial cells into the myometrium while endometriosis is the growth of the endometrial cells outside the uterus. It could be a cause if it affects the uterus lining and causes inability to impregnate the embryo. Please do have regular checkups with your treating gynecologist. Ayurvedic medicines like Sukumara kvath - 15ml with 60ml of warm water before food twice daily, Aloes compound for infertility and Divya Fal ghrit can be taken and then reviewed. Reduce excess caffeine, cold refrigerated foods, canned foods, sweets, refined flour, salt and oil. Yogasanas like Vajrasana, Marajaryasana, Navasana, Matsyasana, Dhanurasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Gomukhasana, Janushirasana and Trikonasana will be beneficial.
